Very cool, and I love the narrator’s accent too! It’s interesting to consider the possible future directions things could take – a screen tax actually sounds like something they might try to implement one day, as a last resort. I’m still a little skeptical about the whole “the internet will change all of reality forever” argument, I think things like trees and sunlight and human relations, water and food will ultimately win out… (hopefully!)
Also I find the trouble with these futurist predictive games is that the further into the future they go the more absolute they become. Which is ridiculous because society is much too chaotic to be be predicted with any certainty, so halfway through that animation they lost me completely.
I think that you’re right about not agreeing with the “replacing reality” idea. If anything I think that the path of the internet and technology in general will be to heighten reality. If I were to predict anything (and here I fall into the same trap I talked about before) I would predict that the next great leap will be in ‘super-reality’ rather than anything virtual.
