Don Hertzfeldt

Written on August 26, 2007

I am consistently surprised by how many people have not seen Don Hertzfeldt’s animations. Here are his two best: ‘Billy’s Balloon’ and ‘Rejected’. If you’re interested, there’s some more links to others beneath. Also, check out his site Bitter Films for DVD copies of his animations as well as merchandise and Don’s online journal.

I am consistently surprised at how many bootlegs of Don’s work there are on the internet like this :)

Please support this 100% indie artist directly by visiting his website, where folks can pick up proper DVDs of his work and learn how to catch them in theaters: http://www.bitterfilms.com

He shoots on 35mm film and animates everything by hand the “old fashioned way”, and once you see the cartoons in their proper quality you’ll never want to look at YouTube again.

Thanks for your comment. I really should have included the link to his website in my original post, but I’ll put it in there now!
