Andrea Galvani
Written on July 2, 2008
Andrea Galvani’s photographs are beautiful. When I look at them I have a curious feeling that they’re trying to shift reality in some way, that they are performing an act on the world outside the frame. They are very other-worldy. Something I admire also is the colour palette and style which runs through all of the photographs, a unique visual language develops between the works.
I’m looking forward to seeing more.
His website is also an excellent example of a good photography website, performing the function as frame for the work nicely (although I’ve always disliked bolding text links on mouse-overs). There are also ‘Drawings’ and ‘Video’ sections on his website, but so far they don’t appear to have any work in them.
