I know nothing more than what’s reported in this article, except knowing who’s behind the aliases and a bit of advance knowledge. I didn’t know they went to the Times however so it was a surreal experience seeing someone reading about it on the subway the other morning.
“They heard workers nearby and sprinted back in the dark, but once back on their platform, Strafe said, “I swung round and stepped into thin air, and literally fell onto my back on the track bed.” Too stunned to move, she looked at Workhorse, who had jumped down to join her with a flashlight. She said she saw a look of horror that said, ‘What are we going to do if she’s seriously injured?’”

I’ve only given it a cursory perusal but so far this book is a steal at $40. It’s huge, hardcover and full of some amazing work. I was at the book launch last night and had it signed by a bunch of the artists, including Elbow Toe and WK Interact. Check it out.

Filmmaker Terry Guetta and Banksy have somehow managed to sneak a film about the artist into the Sundance Film Festival as ‘Untitled’ only revealing it to be a documentary about street art and it’s controversial figurehead today, three days before the first screening.

UPDATE: Another mural is going up right now!
From TWBE (quote and photo):
The refreshing onslaught of street art continues. Arriving on a wall near Grand street and Wooster in Manahattan’s Soho is Banksy’s latest work, a three-story high commisioned rat donning the iconic ‘I heart NY’ t-shirt. The piece was painted by professional sign painters Colossal, who must be fighting over the keeper rights to Banksy’s sketch for the piece.
I’ve heard some people express disbelief that this was commissioned by Banksy since he wasn’t the one to put it up on the wall. However soon after the above mural was completed, the very lovely Dana (who unfortunately has no web presence for me to link to) noticed the stencil below, right nearby. Photo is courtesy of her. So I think that this is a calling card, a statement of ownership, even a signature maybe?

Banksy’s site has been updated. Some excellent new work with the addition of an interesting section titled Next which gives some before and after shots showing what happens to some of his stencils.
